About us

Making Every Day A Good Dog Day.

Hi, I’m Jenny Sullivan. I set up my business in 2017 after starting a family. I have two wonderful children who are pet mad. I have two dogs- a 12-year-old chihuahua called Chico and a 3-year-old pointer x collie called Penny. I have a cat called Catty, two rats called Cuddles and Squeakers (children chose these names) and a Giant African Land Snail called Shelly.

I started my business because I was passionate about dogs and I love being outdoors too. So this is the perfect solution for me.

Welfare is of utmost importance to me. I meet and greet every dog that comes out with us. I want them to be comfortable and have nothing but love and fun whilst in our care. I treat them like my own and form a close relationship with each and every one of them. This allows me to learn their quirks, likes and dislikes. Their boundaries. Their limits. Knowing this ensures they have the best time whilst out on their walks with me.

Safety is important to me. That’s why I’m Canine First Aid trained. I have a large van with separate crates. We go to quieter areas and avoid other dog walkers wherever we can. I only walk up to 6 dogs per handler at any one time.

What we do

I offer an exceptional level of group dog walking. I pick up and drop off your dogs from your home (or another pre-agreed address). They are then taken to various locations in our area and provided with off-lead exercise.

I watch our groups carefully. Whilst I recognise play and humping are important parts of dog behaviour, I do not allow excessive use of these. Especially when one party doesn’t consent. I don’t allow them to wander too far. I do not allow dogs off-lead without your written agreement or if I do not feel confident that they’ll come to us when called.

I only allow friendly and well-socialised dogs in our groups. Dogs who require more socialisation can be included, but this is usually done on a trial basis and with extra precautions.

I offer training classes and 121 training sessions. I only use modern, positive and force-free techniques. I fully reject the use of aversive methods whilst training.

We want to raise happy, well-balanced and well-socialised dogs.

Science and research have shown us that reward-based learning- at the dog’s own pace and when they can make choices produces lifelong skills, and behaviours increase the bond between dog and handler and a love of learning.

We fully reject the use of aversive punishment, fear and pain whilst walking or training. We fully reject the use of aversive equipment when handling dogs.

Certificates

I have 5 years of experience in group dog walking. I spend the summer months assisting in kennels with Labradors and Newfoundlands.

I’ve dealt with around 500 dogs since starting my business. Everyone is unique and beautiful offering me the opportunity to observe and learn from them all.

I’m a fully qualified and assessed dog trainer with a wealth of knowledge from online courses, face-to-face courses, and assessments. I’ve read many books on dogs. It’s my biggest passion!

Jenny

Owner

Jenny is a single mother of two. She has two dogs, a chihuahua and a pointer/collie mix. She is also the proud owner of two rats, a cat and a giant African land snail. When not working she’ll be at the gym, cooking, or out walking her own dogs whilst taking in the views and appreciating the wild foods the land has to offer. She is a keen swimmer- both open water and pool.
